Terms for using this site and its guides

The short version: read the site, use what you learn, quote it with a link, and do not republish a guide as your own. Project work is agreed in its own written scope and is not governed by this page.
What do these terms cover?
The terms on this page cover the use of this website and of the guides published on it. Project work is not covered by them: an engagement is agreed in its own written scope, and nothing on this page changes what such a scope says. Reading the site means accepting the terms set out below.
Who runs this website?
Mavrin Labs LLC runs this website, and the business is a Florida single-member LLC: owned by one member, and staffed by a team of thirteen. Questions about these terms go to [email protected], which reaches the firm directly. No street address is published here, because the firm keeps no public premises, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.
How may the site and its guides be used?
The site and its guides may be read, printed and shared for your own business purposes. Quoting a passage is welcome where the quotation is short, names Mavrin Labs as the source and links to the page it came from. Automated collection that ignores the instructions in the site's robots file is not permitted, and neither is republishing a guide in full.
- Welcome
- Reading, printing, sharing a link, and quoting a short passage with attribution and a link.
- Not permitted
- Republishing a guide in full, passing the content off as someone else's work, or ignoring the site's robots instructions.
Who owns the content?
Mavrin Labs owns the words, the design and the code of this site, and the guides remain its content wherever they are quoted. Nothing on the site transfers any of that to a reader. What a client owns at the end of a project is a separate question, settled in that project's own written scope rather than on this page.
Are the guides professional advice?
The guides are general information, not advice for your own situation. A guide cannot know your systems, your staff or your obligations, so a decision that matters is better taken with someone who does, which is what a strategy session is for. Links to other sites lead to places Mavrin Labs does not control, and what they publish is their own responsibility.
What are the limits on responsibility?
The site is provided as it is, and Mavrin Labs makes no promise that a guide is complete or that the site will always be reachable. Responsibility for a decision taken after reading a page rests with the reader, and nothing here creates an obligation on either side until a written scope is agreed. Where the law gives you rights this page cannot remove, those rights stand.
How are changes and questions handled?
Changes to these terms are published on this page, and the last updated date moves when the wording does. A change worth noticing is described rather than slipped in. Questions, including a request to use a guide in a way this page does not cover, go to the email address above; the privacy policy covers personal data and the contact page reaches a person.
